Purpose of job

Landsec has a mixed-use development pipeline with the potential to deliver over 8 million sq/ft of space in the UK including over 7,000 new homes. This development pipeline is primarily large-scale urban residential led regeneration masterplans with multiple uses and phases, which will be delivered over a 10+ year timeframe. In most instances they are large scale, fully operational shopping centre assets within greater London such as Lewisham Shopping Centre, 02 Centre on Finchley Road, W12 shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush and Southside Shopping centre in Wandsworth.
As we prepare to embark on the next stages of development, we require a highly skilled and experienced Investment Analyst to join the Landsec Investment Analysis Team.
This role will be responsible for maintaining and managing bespoke Excel based development appraisals for the development pipeline of Urban Regeneration projects. The role will require a high degree of engagement with internal and external project teams.

Responsibility for the robustness and accuracy of development appraisals and reporting
Management of key internal and external stakeholders
Principle accountabilitiesDay to day management and maintenance of development appraisal Excel models for Urban Regeneration development projects;Work closely with internal and external project teams to ensure development appraisals and assumptions are current and robust including review and challenge as appropriate;Undertake Excel modelling as required;Preparation of monthly or quarterly reporting packs and attend or lead monthly financial update project meetings;Undertake and present clear and concise financial analysis to support internal project approvals and strategic / portfolio decision-making using PowerPoint and other reporting formats;Working with Investment and Finance teams supporting the preparation of budgets, 5-year strategic business plans and forecasts;Produce financial analysis to support affordable housing viability negotiations with planning authorities; andProvide financial analysis to support transactions including acquisitions, forward funding, and joint venture arrangements.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications
EssentialProven Excel financial modelling skills gained from project delivery, transactions, business planning or other;Practical first-hand experience of operating and maintaining Excel financial models;Knowledge of the real estate sector, development appraisals and real estate valuation;Methodical, highly organised with meticulous attention to detail;Excellent analytical skills and the ability to efficiently analyse financial information and articulate key messages to support decision making;Good organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced and team-oriented environment;Able to work with multiple stakeholders across the business including Investment, Finance, Corporate Finance, Portfolio and Operations; andExcellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
