Part-time KS2 Teaching Assistant, Preston
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant seeking part-time work for November 2021. The Head Teacher of an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ primary school in the PR1 area of Preston would like to appoint an additional member of staff to provide general classroom support in Year 4 during the morning sessionsa and support children during lunch times from 8:45-13:15 Monday Friday– ideal for someone looking to return to work on a part-time basis. The role is to start 1st November 2021 and is planned to continue until the end of the academic year with the potential of a school contract.
During the English and Maths sessions, you will be based in the school’s Year 4 class. You will be expected to provide support and assistance across the class, as planned by the Class Teacher; lead small group activities; listen to pupils read and keep records of pupils’ reading; and deliver small group interventions based upon the pupils’ learning in the core subjects.
For the final hour of the day, you will be expected to join the pupils outside during their lunch time break and work alongside the other members of staff to ensure a safe and happy environment. This will include setting up equipment for the pupils to engage with and leading small group activities.
The Head Teacher has highlighted that the successful candidate will have previous experience in Key Stage 2 and will be confident in their ability to plan and lead small group sessions with the pupils. The school is a single-form entry primary school located in the central Preston area. The most recent Ofsted report identifies the school as ‘Good’ in all areas.

- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (minimum)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
