Our client has recently attained the ROSPA Gold award for excellent performance on Health & Safety. Some of their well-known clients are Cadbury, Eli Lilly, Cancer Research and AstraZeneca.
About the Role :
Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Construction Manager to add to their team . You will be responsible to the Project Manager for the efficient operation of the construction site delivering the project cost efficiently to time, quality and safety constraints. You will have the management of a site team comprising Construction Managers, Foremen, Commissioning and Validation Managers, Site Secretaries and Document Controllers and management of the contractors and specialist suppliers including client contractors with support from the Project Manager QS and Design Team as required. Your main duties will be to:
·Carry out construction programming and planning with critical path analysis.
·Hold and chair progress meetings with both Client and contractors representing the companies’ contractual interests.
·Administer the site in accordance with both main and subcontracts including the writing and issuing of contractual letters and notices.
·Appoint temporary staff as required
·In conjunction with purchasing control the issue of local orders.
·Maintain a comprehensive site diary.
·Manage sub contractors and drive project delivery
As a Construction Manager you will take ownership of the subcontracts once placed and in conjunction with the PM and QS administer the subcontract and guard the companies contractual position and Understand the scope of work and control change on site involving the PM, QS and designer as required on entitlement and value.
Health and Safety: You will have a strong understanding of the CDM regulations, Health and safety legislation, statute and codes of practice and carry out competency assessments of the work forceContribute to the prequalification exercise of contractors, ensure safe systems of work are established, monitored and maintained including coordination with client activities and local rules and hold and chair site safety meetings.
About the Benefits and Rewards:
The base package is circa £50,000 – £65,000. The company’s main ambition is to bring an individual into the organisation with the ability to be fastracked into a senior level position . There will also be a benefits package in addition the basic salary.
The Suitable candidate will have extensive experience in managing Commercial projects and have experience in working for a main contractor within the Healthcare, Public Sector, Laboratories and Logistics sectors. You must be PC Literate. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years site experience. You must be able to work under pressure, work well in a team. Travel is required for this position and you may be required to stay away from home in the week due to the locations of sites .
