Job Title: Attorney – Global Markets Equities Legal Team
Corporate Title: Assistant General Counsel and Vice President
An opportunity has become available for an Attorney to join the Global Markets Equities Legal Team in the London office. The successful candidate will join an established and highly collaborative team of 31 led by Mark Skinner across both Paris and London.
This role will provide assistance across the various branches of the team as required following the evolution of changes triggered by Brexit and other regulatory implementation.
The team works closely with the related lines of business, as their trusted advisors in furtherance of achieving its goals
Cumulatively the team has a vast amount of experience and is well placed to provide ongoing support and training, with senior members actively identifying development opportunities for more junior team members
More broadly, the Global Markets Legal team have an internal mentoring program, connecting senior leaders across the legal department with teammates across all regions. In addition, the Global Markets Legal team have an external mentoring program with its key magic circle law firms, helping to develop and support diverse lawyers and in furtherance of a creating a legal profession which represents the diversity of our communities.
Experience, or an awareness of the issues associated with the following topics:
Cash Trading, Swaps and vanilla derivatives, and stock lending – providing legal support on aspects related to cash trading, swaps and vanilla derivatives, and equity repo and stocklending businesses
Client Assets – advising on EMEA client asset matters and providing Legal support to the Client Assets Control Group (within GTO), principally in relation to UK and EU located entities
Network Management – providing Legal support to non-client facing team which manages our agent bank and Financial Market Utilities network
Regulatory reform and implementation – assisting as required with the analysis and subsequent implementation of forthcoming regulatory change as it affects the Equities business in EMEA
